Recovery of Dynamic PET Regions via Simultaneous Segmentation and Deconvolution

چکیده
We derive a new model for simultaneous segmentation and deconvolution of dynamic PET images. By incorporating the PSF of the imaging system into our segmentation model, we simultaneously estimate region boundaries, and correct tissue activities for the partial volume effect. We show improved segmentation results, and outperform two state-of-the-art dynamic PET segmentation methods.

Simultaneous Segmentation, Kinetic Parameter Estimation, and Uncertainty Visualization of Dynamic PET Images
We develop a segmentation technique for dynamic PET incorporating the physiological parameters for different regions via kinetic modeling. We demonstrate the usefulness of our technique on fifteen [11C]Raclopride simulated PET images. We show qualitatively and quantitatively that the physiologically based algorithm outperforms two classical segmentation techniques. Further, we derive a formula ...
متن کاملAutomatic Segmentation of the Gross Tumor Volume in Prostate Carcinoma Using Fuzzy Clustering in Gallium-68 PSMA PET/CT Scan
Introduction: Modern radiotherapy (RT) techniques allow a highly precise deposition of the radiation dose in tumor. So, high conformal tumor doses can be reached while sparing critical organs at risk. Materials and Methods: This study was conducted in three phases. In the first phase; Fourteen patients with primary or recurrent prostate cancer receive Gallium-...
متن کاملDeconvolution-based partial volume correction in Raclopride-PET and Monte Carlo comparison to MR-based method
In this work, we evaluated three iterative deconvolution algorithms and compared their performance to partial volume (PV) correction based on structural imaging in brain positron emission tomography (PET) using a database of Monte Carlo-simulated images. We limited our interest to quantitative radioligand PET imaging, particularly to (11)C-Raclopride and striatal imaging. The studied deconvolut...
متن کاملSegmentation Based Denoising of PET Images: An Iterative Approach via Regional Means and Affinity Propagation
Delineation and noise removal play a significant role in clinical quantification of PET images. Conventionally, these two tasks are considered independent, however, denoising can improve the performance of boundary delineation by enhancing SNR while preserving the structural continuity of local regions. On the other hand, we postulate that segmentation can help denoising process by constraining...
متن کاملCorrelation between arterial spin labeling MRI and dynamic FDG on PET-MR in Alzheimer’s disease and non-Alzhiemer’s disease patients
Stanford University, California, USA Regional hypoperfusion on Arterial Spin Labeling (ASL) MRI and corresponding regions of hypometabolism on FDG PET have been reported in Alzheimer’s Disease (AD). To our knowledge these correlations have not been studied under simultaneous acquisition. The purpose of this study is to investigate the correlation of ASL with FDG PET under simultaneous acquisiti...
